The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has arrested two women suspected of distributing cannabis sativa, commonly known as bhang, in Kamulu, Nairobi County, following an early morning intelligence-led operation.

The multi-agency raid, conducted at around 6:00 a.m. in the Vina area of Kamulu, targeted a residential house believed to be a hub for drug distribution.

Authorities recovered significant quantities of suspected bhang, including 82 rolls and 32 sachets, alongside a digital weighing scale, rolling papers, and approximately KSh 33,000 believed to be proceeds from the illegal trade.

The suspects were taken to Kamulu Police Station and are expected to be arraigned at the JKIA Law Courts after investigations are completed.

NACADA confirmed the operation was intelligence-driven and involved collaboration with police units, including specialised teams and the K9 unit, as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle drug distribution networks in Nairobi.

The agency also credited members of the public for providing crucial information that led to the successful raid, underscoring the role of community cooperation in combating drug trafficking.
