Kenya Ports Authority Managing Director William Ruto Hospitalised After Being Involved In An Accident In Taita Taveta That Has Left His Daughter Dead
The Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has confirmed that its Managing Director, Captain William K. Ruto, was involved in a serious road accident on the evening of Friday, April 3, 2026, while travelling with members of his family along a highway in Taita Taveta County.
The crash tragically claimed the life of Captain Ruto’s daughter, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision.
The KPA expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the family, noting that the loss has brought profound grief to both the organisation and the Ruto family.
Captain Ruto and the other family members who were travelling in the vehicle survived the accident and were hospitalised with injuries. Officials confirmed that they are currently in stable condition and under close medical supervision.
The accident occurred on a busy section of the road, particularly active during the Easter holiday travel period. Authorities have not yet publicly confirmed the cause, but investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision are underway.
