Tottenham Hotspur have dismissed Thomas Frank as head coach after just eight months at the helm. The decision follows a 2–1 home defeat to Newcastle United that left Spurs perilously close to the Premier League relegation zone.

Frank, who replaced Ange Postecoglou in June 2025, struggled to stabilize the team, winning only two of 17 league matches under his tenure. Poor form and defensive frailties plagued the club throughout the season.

The Premier League campaign has been a source of mounting concern for Tottenham fans. The team currently sits 16th in the table, just five points clear of relegation, prompting frustration in the stands and calls for managerial change.

Despite domestic struggles, Tottenham reached the Champions League last 16. European progress, however, was deemed insufficient to outweigh poor league results and the threat of relegation.

Club leadership, including CEO Vinai Venkatesham, emphasized that the decision was made after careful consideration. They concluded that new leadership was necessary to arrest the slide and improve performance.

Frank’s contract was originally signed on a multi-year basis, signaling the club’s intent to build long-term stability. Those plans were cut short as results failed to meet expectations in the Premier League.

The sacking continues Tottenham’s pattern of short managerial tenures. The club has frequently changed coaches in recent years, reflecting ongoing struggles to find consistency and success.

Fan dissatisfaction had grown in recent months, with supporters openly expressing frustration at home matches. The club’s board cited the need to respond to this sentiment as part of the decision-making process.

Tottenham are now reportedly exploring multiple candidates to take over the head coach role. Sources suggest the club is considering experienced managers who could provide immediate impact and stability.

The departure of Thomas Frank marks a critical turning point for Tottenham’s season. With relegation fears looming, the choice of a new coach will play a decisive role in determining the club’s Premier League future.
