Thomas Partey nears Arsenal exit after contract renewal stalls

Arsenal and Ghana national team midfielder Thomas Teye Partey could leave the club this summer after they failed to reach an agreement to extent his contract at the club. His agents are already lining up the next club for the star.
This comes amid the Arsenal acquisition of Martin zubimendi from Real Sociedad this summer with the club agreeing to trigger his release clause of £52M that looks as a crucial replacement for Partey after his substitute Gorginho Frello Luis joined Flamengo club in Brazil.
Thomas Partey has been pivotal in Arsenal midfield anchoring the defensive midfield position since his arrival from Atletico Madrid in 2020. Due to his adaptability and versatility to various parts of the defence positions he has played as a right back several times with Declan Rice playing as a defensive midfielder and Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard taking the number 8 and 10 respectively. Not forgetting Kai havertz who has played sometimes in the midfield.
The last season only Thomas Partey has started 31 games while coming on as a substitute four times in different games scoring 4 goals. .
The Ghanaian started his career at Atletico Madrid Be on 30th june 2013 before being sent to loan at Mallorca on 11th June 2013. In July 2014 he joined Almeria on loan before returning to Atletico Madrid first team in 29th June 2015.
Arsenal bought Thomas Partey for €50M from Atletico Madrid on the last day of the summer transfer window in October 2020 just after Mikel Arteta had taken over the Arsenal coaching role from Unai Emery.
His prowess at Arsenal has been crucial despite his exit links with Arsenal pushing to resolve his contract issue and see if a decision to extend can be met.
