Sunderland stunned Chelsea with a dramatic 2–1 comeback victory in their Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, October 25, 2025. The defeat was a major setback for the Blues, who had dominated large spells of the match but failed to convert their chances.

Chelsea got off to a bright start when Alejandro Garnacho fired them ahead in the 4th minute after a clever assist from Pedro Neto. The hosts continued to press forward in search of a second goal, but Sunderland’s defense held firm, keeping them in the contest as the first half progressed.

The visitors drew level in the 22nd minute through Wilson Isidor, who capitalized on a defensive lapse to slot past the Chelsea goalkeeper. The equalizer shifted the game’s momentum, and both sides pushed for a winner in an intense and physical second half.

Just when it seemed the match would end in a stalemate, substitute C. Talbi struck deep into stoppage time (90’+3) to hand Sunderland a famous away victory. Despite Enzo Fernández being named Player Of The Match for his commanding performance in midfield, Chelsea’s late lapse left the home fans disappointed as Sunderland celebrated a memorable triumph.
