Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has weighed in on the growing internal backlash within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) following controversial remarks attributed to Secretary General Hassan Omar, mixing a call for unity with sharp political criticism and highly charged personal attacks.

Sudi opened by acknowledging sustained anger within the party over the remarks, while warning against prolonged internal division. He stressed that UDA was built as a broad national formation meant to transcend regional and ethnic identity, and urged leaders to remain focused on cohesion rather than fragmentation. He stated that disciplinary disputes should not be allowed to overshadow the party’s wider political mission.

In a lengthy appeal for internal reconciliation, Sudi emphasized that Omar still held a critical national responsibility within the party structure, arguing that restraint and maturity were essential in leadership communication. He insisted that disagreements should be handled internally, even as pressure mounted from sections of the party demanding accountability.

Tunataka tumuombee huyo Hassan Omar msamaha.”

However, Sudi’s address shifted into a more confrontational tone as he referenced past political interactions, internal party engagements, and electoral disputes, arguing that leaders must exercise discipline when addressing fellow party members. He warned against public exchanges that could undermine confidence in UDA’s internal structures.

He further escalated his criticism by referencing broader political grievances, accusing past leadership systems of economic mismanagement and linking current national debates to long-standing governance failures. His remarks blended party discipline messaging with strong partisan criticism directed at political opponents and rival leadership figures.

The speech intensified further as Sudi launched into a broader political attack on past administrations and rival leaders, accusing them of contributing to economic strain and policy failures. He defended the current administration while contrasting it with earlier leadership periods, citing inflationary pressure and subsidy challenges as key governance concerns.

The remarks have intensified scrutiny within UDA, with political observers warning that the mix of reconciliation appeals and sharp personal attacks highlights growing internal strain as the party navigates discipline, messaging control, and regional balance ahead of future elections.
