Shadrack Maluki Elected New NOC-K President

The Kenya Judo Federation's Shadrack Maluki has been elected as the new President of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K).
The postponed polls were held on Monday at a Nairobi hotel, ushering in a new chapter for the country's Olympic body despite ongoing lawsuits.
Maluki, who previously served as NOC-K's first vice president, secured a commanding victory with 15 votes. He triumphed over his sole opponent, the outgoing Secretary General Francis Mutuku, who garnered 12 votes.
Maluki steps into the top leadership role, taking over from Paul Tergat, whose eight-year tenure concluded after serving two terms of four years each.
The elections saw 13 posts contested, with three candidates running unopposed: John Ogolla from Weightlifting as Secretary General, Charles Mose from Cycling as Deputy Treasurer, and Eliud Kipchoge as Male Athlete Representative.
The new leadership team is intended to steer Kenya's sports agenda, capitalizing on the country's rich Olympic history.
