Ruto's One Man, One Vote, One Shilling’ Politics

Deputy President Wiliam Ruto says, should he ascend to power he will set aside Sh.50 billion for the hustlers which will only be accessed through Saccos and cooperatives at the constituency level.

Speaking during a delegation hosted in Kiambu county, Ruto said the move will help reduce cases of members being asked for security and guarantors.

He further explained that the fund was purposely proposed to help free traders from the shylocks and other lenders who charge high interests.

The hustler's funds will be shared among the 290 constituencies in the country.

To make communication convenient and boost business for traders, Ruto proposed free internet and cost-free calls for all markets, schools, shopping centers, and homes across the country.

"Wale mnafanya biashara kwa soko, hautahitaji tena bundles kupiga simu, unajua watu wengi huhangaika na bundles,” Ruto said.

He said the free internet plans will be achieved by rolling out the last mile internet connectivity modeled on Jubilee's project.

"Just like we had the last mile for power, we will now introduce the last mile for internet," Ruto said.

The DP said the last mile project will cost Sh38 billion and will help traders to do away with bundles for browsing services.

The Kenya Kwanza presidential flagbearer said his proposals will help him run the nation smoothly and will not be based on guesswork or dictatorship because they are decided upon consultations with the voters.

The proposals are part of what the DP wants to unveil in his manifesto slated for Thursday evening.
