President William Samoei Ruto has congratulated the United Democratic Alliance following its victory in four by-elections held on Thursday, describing the outcome as a strong endorsement of the party’s development agenda.

In a statement issued after the polls, Ruto thanked voters in Isiolo South Constituency, West Kabras Ward, Muminji Ward and Evurore Ward for backing UDA candidates. The President said the results reflect growing confidence in the ruling party’s national vision and its commitment to long-term transformation.

The Head of State specifically congratulated Tubi Mohammed of Isiolo South Constituency, Elphas Kainanga Shalakha of West Kabras Ward, Duncan Muratia Nyaga of Evurore Ward and Peterson Njeru of Muminji Ward, following their declaration as winners by the electoral authorities.

Ruto said the victories reinforce UDA’s position as a broad-based political movement seeking to entrench its presence across the country ahead of the 2027 General Election. He reiterated that the party’s focus remains on economic empowerment, infrastructure expansion and service delivery.

Separately, the President inspected the ongoing construction of the Bomas International Convention Complex in Nairobi, a flagship infrastructure project aimed at strengthening Kenya’s position in the global meetings and conferences market.

The multi-billion-shilling development is designed to accommodate up to 11,000 delegates across 35 meeting halls and rooms, with a main plenary hall expected to host 3,000 participants. Officials indicate the facility will significantly boost Nairobi’s competitiveness in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions sector.

The broader project will also feature three hotels, a shopping mall and an amphitheatre, creating an integrated business and tourism destination within the capital. Government planners say the complex is expected to drive growth in hospitality, aviation and related service industries.

More than 2,500 workers are currently engaged on site, with construction progressing around the clock. During the inspection tour, Ruto addressed the workforce and expressed satisfaction with the pace of works.

The President said the facility will enhance Kenya’s global standing in tourism and international conferencing once complete, positioning Nairobi as a premier hub for continental and global events.

The twin developments — electoral gains for UDA and progress on flagship infrastructure — underscore the administration’s political consolidation and economic agenda as it moves deeper into its second term in office.
