Rally Driver Asad Khan Dies At Avenue Hospital
Rally Driver Asad Khan passed away on Sunday at Avenue hospital where he was receiving treatment following an alleged assault by his girlfriend Maxine Wahome, a rally driver.
Khan's demise was confirmed by his brother Adil, who said his brother was fighting for his life at the hospital's High Dependency Unit.
“Yes, my brother Asad has finally left us. We had been at his bedside ever since he was admitted to the hospital with stab wounds. It is really sad,” he said.
Adil further revealed that Khan had lost a lot of blood which highly contributed to his death.
“My brother was transfused 10 pints of blood at Avenue Hospital. We moved him from Nairobi Hospital to get blood group A-positive,” Adil recalled.
The family had earlier made a plea tom members of the public for blood donation as he was in a critical condition.
“We wish to request all friends and well-wishers to kindly keep him in your prayers. The hospital team at Avenue hospital ICU require 5 pints of blood group A+ or O+ for his ongoing treatment,” read the statement from the family.
According to Adil, his bother was assaulted by Maxine Wahome on Jamhuri Day after a disagreement between the two.
Wahome, was arrested on Monday, December 12, in connection to Asad's hospitalisation before she was released on a Ksh100,000 cash bail.
She was ordered to report to Kilimani Police Station every week to assist police with investigating the case.
