Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development, and Special Programmes, Geoffrey Ruku, has called for unity while launching an empowerment initiative targeted at youth and boda boda operators in Taveta, Taita Taveta County.

Addressing a gathering at Satoo Grounds, CS Ruku highlighted the critical role played by boda boda riders in driving the local economy, emphasizing that the government recognizes trade and small businesses as the backbone of family livelihoods across the nation.

The Cabinet Secretary noted that his visit was conducted under the direct instruction of President William Ruto to ensure youth across Kenya receive active state support to build, scale, and sustain their daily commercial enterprises.

Conveying special greetings from Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, CS Ruku underscored the national administration’s resolve to deliver on its mandate through direct community engagements and targeted youth empowerment initiatives.

Ruku took the opportunity to directly address political critics and opposition figures, urging residents to reject divisive propaganda and focus on verified development milestones achieved under the current administration.

In a sharp political rebuke, the Cabinet Secretary dismissed claims that the administration had underperformed, strongly criticizing former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua for political rhetoric aimed at inciting regional hatred and hostility.

He warned against political factionalism and attempts to divide the nation into regional blocs, asserting that Kenya is a unified country that will not tolerate tribal politics or leadership driven by personal vendettas.

Highlighting the government's development record, CS Ruku pointed to key ongoing national projects, including youth employment initiatives, expanding healthcare coverage, improving water access, and extending rural electricity connectivity.

Addressing dynamic regional politics, Ruku noted that leaders attempting to mislead citizens using regional sentiments are misleading the public, reaffirming that the national government remains steadfast in serving all Kenyans equally regardless of political affiliations.

Concluding his address, the Cabinet Secretary assured Taveta residents of the government's long-term commitment to economic empowerment and institutional support, declaring that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains fully intact and focused on its service delivery goals.
