DCI Rescues 48 Women In Kajiado Crackdown On Alleged Sexual Exploitation Network

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has rescued 48 women during coordinated operations in Ongata Rongai and Kiserian targeting an alleged sexual exploitation network involved in the production of explicit online content. The operations were conducted after detectives received intelligence reports on suspected illegal activities taking place at residential premises in the two areas.
In the first operation, detectives raided a house in the Rimpa area of Ongata Rongai, where they rescued 30 women aged between 19 and 27 years. Investigators believe the premises had been converted into a base for producing explicit online content for commercial purposes.
During the raid, detectives recovered seven laptops fitted with cameras, together with other electronic equipment believed to have been used in creating and transmitting explicit material. The recovered items were seized as exhibits to support ongoing investigations.
The women rescued from the Ongata Rongai house were taken into protective custody as detectives documented evidence and interviewed them. The suspects arrested during the operation were detained at Ongata Rongai Police Station pending further investigations and court proceedings.
In a separate operation in Kiserian, detectives rescued another 18 women after uncovering an alleged scheme in which victims were lured with promises of domestic employment before being subjected to exploitation.
According to investigators, the women had allegedly responded to job offers only to discover they were being forced into activities different from those they had been promised. Detectives believe the operation formed part of a wider criminal network targeting vulnerable job seekers.
During the Kiserian raid, officers recovered several mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices suspected to have been used in coordinating the illegal activities. The exhibits have been forwarded for forensic examination.
The DCI said the main suspect linked to the Kiserian operation escaped during the raid and remains at large. Detectives are pursuing leads to locate and arrest the individual as investigations continue.
Authorities said the rescued women will receive appropriate support, including medical attention, counselling and referral to safe shelters as part of efforts to protect victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
The operations form part of an intensified crackdown by the DCI against organised criminal groups involved in online sexual exploitation, human trafficking and cyber-enabled crimes targeting vulnerable individuals across the country.
The latest rescues come days after detectives dismantled another suspected online sexual exploitation ring in Nairobi's Mihang'o area, where several women were rescued and suspects arrested over similar allegations involving deceptive job recruitment and the production of explicit online content.
The DCI has urged members of the public to verify employment opportunities before accepting job offers and to report suspected cases of human trafficking, sexual exploitation or online abuse to law enforcement agencies as investigations into the Kajiado operations continue.
