Public Land Encroachers Given Ultimatum To Vacate Or Face Eviction
The Western Regional Commissioner, Irungu Macharia, has issued a directive to those who have encroached upon public land for personal use, ordering them to vacate immediately or face eviction. Macharia made this announcement during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Kenya Coastguard Services office construction in Port Victoria, Bunyala Sub County.
He specifically mentioned that certain individuals had encroached upon land designated for the project and urged them to vacate within one month.
Additionally, the RC extended the eviction notice to land grabbers throughout the entire Western Region, emphasizing that they must leave immediately or face forceful eviction. Macharia also encouraged local leaders and residents to collaborate with the Kenya Coastguard officers once they are stationed in the area, highlighting that these officers would work alongside other security forces to maintain law and order
The Western Regional Police Commander, Kiprono Langat, urged parents in the area to ensure their children attend school and advised fishermen not to catch immature fish, as doing so would deplete the fish population.
