Paris Saint-Germain claimed the UEFA Super Cup title after edging Tottenham Hotspur 4-3 in a tense penalty shootout following a dramatic 2-2 draw in regular time on Wednesday night.
Tottenham took control early, with Micky van de Ven breaking the deadlock in the 39th minute before Cristian Romero doubled the lead shortly after the break. However, PSG mounted a late comeback as Lee Kang-in struck in the 85th minute, and Gonçalo Ramos netted a stoppage-time equaliser to force penalties.
In the shootout, PSG converted through Vitinha, Ramos, Ousmane Dembélé, Lee, and Nuno Mendes, while Tottenham saw misses from Mohamed Tel and Van de Ven prove costly. The result marked a return to silverware for the French champions after their Club World Cup disappointment against Chelsea.
