President Ruto Makes Gov't Changes

President William Ruto made significant changes to his government on Thursday, with the goal of accelerating the implementation of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
According to changes published by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, President Ruto has dropped Edward Kisiangani as the Principal Secretary for Information Communication and Technology and appointed him a senior counselor at the President's Economic Council.
Kisiangani has been succeeded by Stephen Isaboke, who now oversees the ICT portfolio.
Susan Nakhumicha was also nominated as Permanent Representative to the United Nations Habitat, while Peter Tum was appointed Kenya's Ambassador to Kinshasa.
PS Julius Bitok has been transferred to the Department of Education, while Belio Kipsang takes over the Immigration docket.
Ouma Oluga has been named as the Medical Services PS, while Harry Kimtai has been assigned to the Mining Ministry.
Amos Gathecha was promoted from Principal Secretary of Public Service to Deputy Head of Public Service at the Executive Office of the President.
Dr. Caroline Wanjiru Karugu, former Nyeri Deputy Governor, will now work as Principal Secretary at the State Department for East African Community (EAC) Affairs.
The State House has hinted that additional changes may be on the way as President Ruto fine-tunes his government.
