President-Elect To Review Maize Flour And Fertilizers Prices
President-elect Dr. William Ruto now says he will meet various stakeholders in the Agricultural sector to discuss new maize flour and fertilizers prices.
"We have had meetings with those in the Ministry of Agriculture and we will announce new fertilizers prices that we would have reduced by next week," he stated.
Speaking at a thanksgiving service in Maua Stadium, Meru County, Dr. Ruto said the move will change the agricultural sector in the country which he terms the backbone of the economy.
Further, president-elect pledged to revamp Miraa exports in the region by addressing market challenges for the produce, this, he says will help grow the economy without unnecessary debts.
Regarding cartels who have bedeviled the industry and denied farmers a chance to make a living, Ruto vowed to deal with them accordingly after his swearing in ceremony.
“Once I put my Bible down on Tuesday, it will be against them. If there is anyone here who knows any of the cartels, warn them early enough. Give them notice, that I have said am coming for them,” Ruto added.
Still on the same, the Kenya kwanza leader assured his Meru allies who lost in the August election to be absorbed by his government.
President-elect and his deputy will be sworn in on Tuesday at the Kasarani stadium.
The military has been conducting rehearsals with security beefed up ahead of the event.
Thousands of Kenyans, heads of missions, and several heads of state are expected to attend the inauguration ceremony.
