The Premier League has officially released its new hi-vis winter ball for the 2025/26 season, named “Under The Lights.” The ball, designed by PUMA, is tailored for use during the colder and darker months when visibility becomes crucial. It features a vivid colour pattern of fluorescent yellow with purple and blue details, enhancing clarity for players and fans under floodlights and in adverse weather.
This winter edition belongs to the PUMA Orbita Ultimate series, marking the brand’s continued partnership with the Premier League as its official ball supplier. The new design reflects PUMA’s focus on visibility and precision, combining both performance engineering and aesthetic appeal. The bright colourway ensures that the ball remains easily visible during evening and winter matches.
Technologically, the ball is built with a 12-panel configuration for optimal symmetry and balance, ensuring consistent flight and stability. It also features high-frequency moulding, which replaces traditional stitching to enhance durability and maintain the ball’s round shape. The 3D-textured polyurethane outer layer provides better control, grip, and resistance to abrasion, making it suitable for all weather conditions.
Inside, the ball uses a rubber bladder with a PUMA Air Lock (PAL) valve that guarantees superior air retention and rebound consistency. These features have helped it achieve FIFA Quality Pro certification, confirming it meets the highest standards in professional football equipment. The ball’s technology is designed to deliver the same level of precision and reliability whether in rain, wind, or cold temperatures.
The “Under The Lights” winter ball will make its competitive debut on November 8, 2025, in the Tottenham Hotspur versus Manchester United match. It will then be used throughout the winter period across all Premier League fixtures. With its innovative design and cutting-edge technology, the new ball symbolizes the league’s ongoing commitment to performance excellence and modern football innovation.
