A Premier League footballer valued at around £60 million was reportedly threatened with a gun on a busy London street in a shocking late-night confrontation. According to The Sun, the player, who is in his 20s, was walking with a friend when they were approached by a well-known football agent in an incident that has sparked widespread alarm within the football community.

The confrontation is said to have taken place around 11:14 p.m. on September 6 along Cockfosters Parade in Barnet, North London. Witnesses claim the suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and threatened the player before fleeing the scene. The footballer and his companion managed to escape unharmed, and no shots were fired.

Police later arrested a 31-year-old football agent believed to represent high-profile players, including England internationals. He was detained on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, blackmail, and driving without a licence. Officers also raided the suspect’s Hertfordshire home, seizing several items for forensic analysis.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest and said the suspect has since been released on bail under strict conditions, including surrendering his passport, avoiding the player and his club, and remaining in the UK pending further investigation. No charges have been filed as inquiries continue.

The identity of the footballer has not been disclosed for legal reasons. The incident has sent shockwaves through the Premier League, prompting renewed discussions about player safety and the growing concerns surrounding agent conduct in top-flight football.
