Pep Guardiola has been named the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month for April 2026 after guiding Manchester City through an unbeaten run in the league. Guardiola oversaw three victories from three matches as City intensified pressure in the Premier League title race.
Manchester City secured major wins against Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley during the month. City defeated Chelsea 3-0 before edging Arsenal 2-1 in a crucial clash and later recording a 1-0 victory over Burnley to maintain momentum in the closing stages of the season.
The award marks Guardiola’s 13th Barclays Manager of the Month honour since arriving in England in 2016. The Spaniard now ranks third on the all-time list behind Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger.
Guardiola had earlier won the February 2026 Manager of the Month award, ending a lengthy wait for the monthly recognition despite Manchester City’s consistent domestic dominance in recent years.
Other managers nominated for the April accolade included Arne Slot, Nuno Espírito Santo, Daniel Farke, Andoni Iraola, Fabian Hürzeler and Vítor Pereira.
Manchester City remained active on multiple fronts during April, with the club also progressing to the FA Cup final while continuing their pursuit of league leaders Arsenal in the Premier League standings.
Speaking during the month, Guardiola praised his players for maintaining focus during a demanding schedule that included domestic and cup fixtures. He highlighted the squad’s mentality and consistency as key factors behind their strong performances.
The Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month award is determined through a combination of public voting and selections by a panel of football experts, with Guardiola once again adding to his impressive list of achievements in English football.
