Onjiko Shines In Basketball
Onjiko high school basketball team from Kisumu dripped Agoro Sare high school 84 – 27 scores at the Nyanza sports regionals held at Kisii high school to qualify for participation at the national level.
The final game dubbed ‘entertainment’ by the team’s coach who is also the school’s principal owing to the confidence exhibited, saw the victory acquired through zone difference strategy playing.
Speaking after the clash, principal Joseph Were, attributed the fit to consistency by the players during the preparations and predicted the team’s entry to the East African championships after the nationals.
Agoro Sare High principal Isaac Okello commended the identification of talent witnessed by the players during the game recommending they be nurtured further through exposure to an academy.
Commending the regional team headed for the nationals, Okello predicted its commitment to put up a strong opposition in the upcoming national tournament at Eldoret.
