NCPWD Executive Director Harun Hassan Hands Over Reins After Transformative Four Years
The National Council for Persons with Disabilities Executive Director, Mr. Harun Hassan EBS, officially handed over his duties to Ms. Eva Njoroge, who will serve as acting Executive Director pending a permanent appointment.
According to NCPWD, the former CEO’s four-year tenure has left behind remarkable reforms that significantly impacted the lives of persons with disabilities in the country. His leadership focused on digitalization, increased nationwide visibility of disability issues, and tangible improvements in service delivery.
Key achievements under Mr. Hassan's direction include the decentralization of the Director of Medical Services signature from Nairobi to the counties, streamlining access to essential services.
He also oversaw the digitalization of registration and tax exemption processes, making them more efficient and accessible.
Furthermore, the NCPWD shifted its educational support from bursaries to scholarships, providing more reliable and substantial assistance. Mr. Hassan fostered a motivated workforce, cultivated numerous partnerships to expand service provision, and actively engaged in parliamentary lobbying to address critical budgetary and legislative gaps.
Mr. Hassan is the fourth Executive Director of the NCPWD since its establishment. His vision and unwavering commitment have profoundly transformed the Council, leaving a legacy that will undoubtedly inspire future generations. The NCPWD wishes him well in his future endeavors.
