Mystery Over Student's Death

Mystery shrouds the death of a  form two girl-child at a  National school in Kitutu Chache South sub-county with parents demanding an explanation from the school administration on the same.

The student reportedly fell sick and  was rushed to a hospital in Kisii town where she was pronounced death.

School principal Joyce Orioki speaking over phone denied allegations that the student passed on while in the school dormitory and clarified her body was removed to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

But according to the mother and relatives, they received information from the school asking them to report immediately since their daughter was critically ill.

Upon arrival, they received  the sad news on her demise with no explanation from the school authorities.

Jackline Mang’era ,the deceased’s mother narrated how she was informed through phone about her daughter’s sickness whom she had personally  interacted  with when she  paid  her school  fees a few days ago.

She denied   her daughter was not sick petitioning the government to unravel the cause of her death.

Thomas Mang’era the uncle, claimed vague information on the learner’s death reached the family after 48 hours.

The family could not proceed with burial arrangements without establishing the cause of her death and appealed to the government launch investigations.

Samson Nyambane, who sponsored the deceased’s education expenses and who resided in Migori town criticized the school management for passing information to non-relatives following the death of the student.

They  reported at  the area police station and were told to go back later when the officer in charge was in office.
