Mohammed Salah is not happy with the current situation at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has sent shockwaves through Liverpool FC after claiming the club and key figures are pushing for his exit. The Egyptian forward, benched for a third consecutive match following a 3–3 draw with Leeds United, accused the club of betrayal, saying he has been unfairly treated despite his long-standing contributions.

“I have done so much for this club down the years and especially last season. Now I’m sitting on the bench and I don’t know why,” Salah said. “It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus. That is how I am feeling. I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame.”

Salah also pointed to broken promises from the summer transfer window. “I got a lot of promises in the summer and so far … I’m on the bench three games, so I can’t say they kept the promise,” he said, hinting at friction over his role in the squad. He added that his previously strong relationship with manager Arne Slot has collapsed: “I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager and all of a sudden we don’t have any relationship.”

Looking ahead, Salah suggested that Liverpool’s upcoming match against Brighton & Hove Albion might be his farewell to the fans. “In my head, I’m going to enjoy that game because I don’t know what is going to happen now. I will be at Anfield to say goodbye to the fans and go to the Africa Cup [of Nations],” he explained.

The comments highlight deep internal tensions at Anfield, with Salah accusing the club of making him a scapegoat for recent disappointments. The 33-year-old, third on Liverpool’s all-time scoring list with 250 goals, remains a pivotal figure, and his remarks raise questions about loyalty and respect within the squad.

Salah’s statements have also fueled speculation about a potential January transfer. Interest from abroad, particularly the Saudi Pro League, is reportedly growing, and the football world now watches closely to see whether a Liverpool legend will depart under a cloud of controversy.
