Marcus Rashford is reportedly close to signing a long-term contract with FC Barcelona after a successful loan spell from Manchester United.

Barcelona officially signed Rashford on loan in July 2025 with an option to buy worth around €30 million (£26 million). The deal was confirmed by the club on its official website.

The England forward has enjoyed a strong season under coach Hansi Flick, helping Barcelona win the 2025/26 La Liga title with several important goals and assists across all competitions.

Spanish and English media reports indicate Rashford has already agreed personal terms on a long-term contract believed to run between three and five years.

Barcelona are reportedly considering a longer deal structure to help spread the transfer fee and wages in line with La Liga financial regulations.

Reports further claim Rashford is prepared to take a significant salary reduction to remain at Camp Nou permanently.

Negotiations between Barcelona and Manchester United are still ongoing, with the English club pushing for the full €30 million buy clause to be activated.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is said to fully support Rashford’s permanent stay after being impressed by his performances and attitude throughout the season.

Midfielder Frenkie de Jong has also publicly praised Rashford’s impact at the club during the title-winning campaign.

One of Rashford’s standout moments this season came during El Clásico, where he scored a decisive free-kick against Real Madrid CF.

Reports indicate Barcelona have until mid-June 2026 to trigger the purchase option included in the original loan agreement.

Rashford’s future at Manchester United now appears increasingly unlikely as the forward pushes to continue his revived career in Spain.
