Patrick Dorgu scored the second against Manchester city in the Manchester Derby

Manchester United secured a convincing 2–0 victory over Manchester City in a high-profile Premier League clash, ending the contest with authority at Old Trafford.

After a goalless first half marked by tactical caution, United stepped up the tempo following the break, gradually asserting control in midfield and transition.

The breakthrough arrived in the 65th minute when Bryan Mbeumo finished clinically after a well-worked move involving Bruno Fernandes, giving the hosts a deserved lead.

United doubled their advantage in the 76th minute through Patrick Dorgu, who converted from close range after sustained pressure, effectively sealing the result.

City attempted to respond with a triple substitution around the 80th minute, introducing fresh attacking options, but United’s defensive structure held firm.

Late drama followed when a stoppage-time goal by Mason Mount was ruled out, preserving the two-goal margin as the match entered additional time.

The encounter featured several physical moments, with yellow cards shown on both sides as intensity rose during the closing stages.

Bruno Fernandes was named Player of the Match after an influential performance, dictating play and contributing decisively to United’s attacking output.

Pep Guardiola after the game: "The better team won, Manchester United. They were better."

"When a team is better, you have to accept it. They had the energy we didn't have, so congratulations to them!"
