Manchester City kept their Premier League title challenge alive with a dramatic 2–1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield, producing a late turnaround in one of the season’s most intense encounters.

Liverpool appeared on course for a crucial home win after Dominik Szoboszlai broke the deadlock in the second half with a superbly struck free kick that beat the City goalkeeper and lifted the Anfield crowd.

City, however, refused to fold and gradually imposed themselves on the game, controlling possession and pinning Liverpool back as the clock ticked down.

Their persistence paid off late on when Bernardo Silva struck the equaliser, shifting momentum sharply and leaving Liverpool scrambling to hold on.

Deep into stoppage time, City were awarded a penalty following a foul in the box, setting the stage for a tense finale.

Erling Haaland stepped up and calmly converted from the spot, completing a remarkable comeback and sealing all three points for the reigning champions.

The win lifts Manchester City to 50 points, closing the gap on league leaders Arsenal, while Liverpool remain outside the top four, facing mounting pressure as the Premier League title and Champions League races intensify.
