Manchester City secured a comfortable 3–1 victory over Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, November 2, to maintain their pursuit of Premier League leaders.
Erling Haaland gave City the lead in the 17th minute after a brilliant assist from Rayan Cherki, but the visitors equalised eight minutes later through Tyler Adams. The Norwegian striker restored City’s advantage in the 33rd minute, again finishing off a fine move orchestrated by Cherki.
Phil Foden played a crucial role in City’s dominance, setting up N. O’Reilly for the third goal in the 60th minute to put the result beyond doubt. Despite Bournemouth’s efforts, Pep Guardiola’s side remained in full control for most of the match.
City’s substitutions, including Savinho and Omar Marmoush, helped maintain their intensity late in the game, while Bournemouth introduced Justin Kluivert and others in a bid to find a way back.
