KNPC To Align Elections with Paralympics Calendar

The Kenya National Paralympic Committee (KNPC) has announced a significant change to its governance structure, with elections now scheduled to take place every four years, immediately following the Paralympic Games.
This major constitutional amendment, approved at a special general meeting yesterday in Nairobi, aims to enhance accountability and streamline leadership transitions.
The decision was prompted by a motion from the International Paralympics Committee (IPC), which advised the KNPC to align its electoral and voting constitution with global best practices. This move ensures that Kenya's Paralympic body operates in conformity with its international counterparts, creating a predictable and clear timeline for the organization's leadership.
The new electoral cycle is expected to bring greater stability and focus to the KNPC's operations, allowing the committee to concentrate on athlete development and high-performance training without the interruption of frequent elections.
This reform is seen as a key part of the KNPC's efforts to build a more transparent and effective organization, ultimately benefiting Kenyan para-athletes on the global stage.
