Faith Kipyegon cemented her legendary status by storming to her fourth women’s 1500m world title at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Tuesday. The two-time Olympic champion dominated the race, clocking 3:52.15 to extend her reign as the greatest middle-distance runner of her generation.

Her victory was made even sweeter for Kenya as rising star Dorcus Ewoi produced a stunning performance to claim silver. The 28-year-old delivered the race of her life, setting a personal best of 3:54.92 to secure her first ever global medal.

The Kenyan duo secured a memorable 1-2 finish, underlining the nation’s dominance in the middle-distance event. Australia’s Jessica Hull settled for bronze in 3:55.16 after a thrilling battle down the home stretch.

For Kipyegon, the win adds to her unmatched legacy in the 1500m, while for Ewoi, it marks the arrival of a new star on the world stage, with her personal best run signaling a bright future for Team Kenya.
