Kenya missed out on the opportunity to qualify for the 2022 Amputee World Cup set to take place in Turkey, after falling 1-0 to Morocco in a tightly contested Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football qualifier match.
Kenya was battling for the fifth position at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium, and a win would have seen them automatically qualify for the Continental Showpiece for the third time, after featuring in 2014 and 2018.
Kenya’s team captain Dalmas otieno decried blunt attack, poor defending and goalkeeping led to their downfall suggesting a local league for Kenya’s Amputee footballers will help build their confidence and endurance to compete effectively.

Tanzania and Morocco claimed fourth and fifth positions respectively, as Morocco qualified for the first time and will be hoping to make a competitive debut.
The Cup of African Nations for Amputee Football qualification matches were played in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania where thirteen teams participated, and only five could progress to the World Cup in Turkey.
