Kenya Airways has suspended its repatriation flight scheduled for March 6 between Nairobi and Dubai following security guidance issued by authorities at Dubai International Airport. The national carrier announced that the decision was taken in compliance with the advisory and to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.

The airline said the flight had been arranged as part of a special repatriation effort aimed at helping travellers move between Kenya and the United Arab Emirates amid disruptions affecting travel in the region.

According to the airline, the suspension was implemented after airport authorities in Dubai issued fresh security guidance affecting flight operations at the airport.

Kenya Airways described the move as a precautionary measure, emphasizing that passenger safety remains its highest priority as the situation continues to evolve.

Passengers who were scheduled to travel on the affected flight have been advised to monitor their flight status through the airline’s official communication channels.

The airline also urged travellers to ensure their contact details are updated through the booking management system to receive timely notifications regarding changes to their travel plans.

Kenya Airways noted that the repatriation flight was not part of its regular schedule but had been organized as a special operation to assist travellers affected by the disruptions.

Earlier in the week, the airline had operated limited flights between Nairobi and Dubai after receiving temporary approvals from aviation authorities in the United Arab Emirates.

The disruption comes as several airlines review operations in parts of the Middle East due to evolving security concerns affecting regional airspace.

Dubai remains one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs, and any operational restrictions there can affect multiple international routes.

Kenya Airways said it will continue to monitor the situation closely while working with aviation authorities to determine when it will be safe to resume the repatriation flights.

Further updates are expected once authorities provide additional guidance on flight operations and security conditions at the Dubai airport.
