The Jubilee Party has unveiled a fresh leadership lineup after its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting chaired by party leader and former President Uhuru Kenyatta, signaling a strategic reshuffle as the party positions itself ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Former Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has been appointed Deputy Party Leader (Operations), a newly emphasised role focused on strengthening party structures, ensuring compliance with internal processes, and coordinating grassroots mobilisation.

Kioni’s move ends his tenure as Secretary General but positions him at the centre of Jubilee’s operational strategy, particularly as the party seeks to rebuild and energise its national presence ahead of the elections. Analysts say the shift reflects a focus on consolidating party unity and improving organisational efficiency.

The NEC also appointed Richard Moitalel Ole Kenta as the new Secretary General of the party, replacing Kioni. Ole Kenta, a former Member of Parliament for Narok North and an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, brings legal and governance experience to the role.

Party officials described the leadership changes as part of a broader effort to revitalise Jubilee’s organisational foundation, improve coordination, and enhance competitiveness in the national political landscape. The restructuring aims to strengthen both the central command and county-level operations.

Alongside the top appointments, the party also filled other key positions, including Deputy Secretary General and National Organising Secretary, underscoring a comprehensive reshuffle of its executive ranks. The move is expected to streamline decision-making and policy implementation.

Jubilee officials have urged members, supporters, and political partners to rally behind the new leadership team, emphasizing that unity will be critical as the party mobilises support ahead of the general elections.

Party insiders say the shake-up reflects internal consensus to refocus Jubilee’s agenda on governance reforms, grassroots engagement, and articulating policy alternatives in a competitive political environment.

Observers note that the timing of the leadership changes comes amid broader political realignments in Kenya, as parties across the spectrum position themselves for the 2027 elections. Analysts say Jubilee’s proactive approach may give it a strategic advantage.

The party leadership reiterated its commitment to delivering a message of inclusivity and reform, highlighting that the new team will work to consolidate resources, strengthen member participation, and enhance public confidence in Jubilee’s governance agenda.
