Jordi Alba Announces Retirement From Professional Football

Spanish defender Jordi Alba has officially announced that he will retire from professional football at the end of the 2025 season. The 36-year-old made the announcement through a video message on his Instagram account, confirming that this campaign with Inter Miami will be his last.
Alba joined Inter Miami in 2023, reuniting with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets. During his time in Major League Soccer, he won the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2024 Supporters’ Shield.
Before moving to the United States, Alba enjoyed a highly successful career at Barcelona, where he won six La Liga titles, five Copa del Rey trophies, four Supercopa de España titles, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup, and one FIFA Club World Cup.
Internationally, he was part of Spain’s squad that won UEFA Euro 2012 and captained the team to victory in the 2023 UEFA Nations League.
