Luton Town have reached an agreement to appoint former Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere as their new head coach. The 33-year-old is expected to officially sign his contract on Monday, marking the beginning of his first senior managerial role. The deal comes after days of negotiations, with both parties settling on key terms over the weekend.

Wilshere will take charge of the Championship side following the recent sacking of Matt Bloomfield, who was dismissed after a poor start to the season. Luton currently sit in the lower half of the table, and the club’s management is banking on Wilshere’s modern coaching ideas and Premier League experience to turn their campaign around.

Alongside Wilshere, former England international Chris Powell is set to join the backroom staff as his assistant coach. Powell brings a wealth of experience from his previous stints in management and is expected to provide strong tactical support as Luton look to stabilize their form.

Wilshere has been steadily building his coaching career since retiring from professional football. He previously worked with Arsenal’s U18 team before taking on roles at Norwich City as a first-team coach and interim manager. His appointment at Luton marks a major step up into senior management.

Luton Town are expected to unveil Wilshere in an official press conference early next week. The club’s fans have expressed mixed reactions online, with some excited about a fresh start under a young coach, while others are cautious about his lack of senior managerial experience. Wilshere’s immediate task will be to guide the team out of the relegation zone and revive their promotion ambitions.
