"I thought I was infertile": Mesh Breaks Silence on Private Infertility Battle

The YouTube couple, Mesh and Nina of Wapendwa Muziki, have opened up about the significant challenges they faced trying to conceive their first child. They had previously been public about their desire for a baby, even releasing a song manifesting their wish. Their announcement of expecting a child in October followed a video where Nina appeared heavily pregnant, leading to many congratulations.

In an interview with Trudy Kitui, Mesh revealed the depth of his struggle, disclosing a confirmed family history of infertility. This history made him fear he might be the one affected, saying "I thought I was infertile." He admitted he only recently shared this private detail with Nina.

Nina also discussed their early use of contraception. She mentioned experiencing discomfort from an Intrauterine Coil (IUD) but continued using it while they were still building their relationship, a decision they now regret.

Mesh explained that after removing the coil, they struggled to conceive immediately, leading to panic. They tried for a year without success. He recalled reading online comments that speculated the fertility issue might lie with him, not Nina. Nina added that they learned the importance of researching such matters, noting that if they had the funds then, they would have sought care at a proper hospital sooner.
