Harambee Stars Defender Manzur Okwaro Joins Nairobi United Ahead of Premier League & CAF Debut

Newly promoted Nairobi United, gearing up for their debut in the FKF Premier League and the CAF Confederation Cup, have made a bold signing by acquiring Harambee Stars stalwart Manzur Okwaro Suleiman from KCB FC.
The move came just hours before the CAF squad registration deadline, with Okwaro swiftly completing medicals, signing his contract, and being registered to compete in both domestic and continental competitions.
Okwaro, a product of St. Anthony’s Boys Kitale, impressed at the recent African Nations Championship (CHAN) with his versatility, playing both as a centre back and a defensive midfielder under coach Benni McCarthy.
The defender, who once featured for Rainbow FC and trialled in Europe, reportedly had interest from multiple clubs across Africa and Europe. Nevertheless, he chose Nairobi United, highlighting the club’s rising appeal.
In addition to Okwaro, Nairobi United has bolstered its squad with goalkeeper Bernard Jairo from Kariobangi Sharks, midfielder Shami Mwinyi from Posta Rangers, Chris Opondo from FC Talanta, and Daniel Wafula from Murang’a Seal.
With these reinforcements, United signal their determination not just to participate but to challenge in both the Premier League and continental action.
