Gov't Releases Sh1.78 Billion For Inua Jamii Payments

The government has released Sh1.78 billion to support orphans and vulnerable children under the Inua Jamii cash transfer programme. A total of 445,940 beneficiaries across the country are set to benefit from the latest disbursement.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the funds will cover stipends for the months of June and July. Each beneficiary household is entitled to Sh4,000, which will be credited through their designated payment channels.
Officials said the programme is part of the government’s commitment to safeguarding the welfare of vulnerable groups. The Inua Jamii initiative has been instrumental in providing financial relief to households struggling with poverty and limited access to basic needs.
The ministry urged beneficiaries to collect their payments promptly once notified by their banks or mobile service providers. It also assured the public of its continued efforts to strengthen social safety nets and enhance transparency in the disbursement of funds.
