Alpha Onyango’s goal was enough to give Gor Mahia all three points
Gor Mahia moved to the summit of the 2025/26 FKF Premier League standings after edging Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0, consolidating their position as early title contenders. Austin Onyango’s 19th-minute strike proved decisive, taking K’Ogalo to 23 points from 12 matches and opening a narrow gap at the top.
The win places Gor Mahia two points clear of KCB, who sit second on 21 points but have played a game more. Kenya Police, Tusker FC and Posta Rangers are also locked on 21 points, highlighting the intense competition in the top half of the table where goal difference is beginning to play a crucial role.
Kakamega Homeboyz remain sixth with 20 points after 13 matches, still well within touching distance of the leaders despite the setback. Shabana FC follow closely in seventh, also on 20 points, keeping the chase for continental qualification places wide open.
In mid-table, Leopards, Mara Sugar FC and Mathare United are all clustered around the 18-point mark, while Nairobi United sit 11th on 16 points. Bandari and Bidco United hover just above the danger zone, needing consistency to avoid being dragged into the relegation fight.
At the bottom, Sofapaka and Kariobangi Sharks continue to struggle, with Sharks rooted last on just eight points. With the season still in its early stages, the standings suggest a fiercely contested campaign both at the top and in the relegation battle as the league heads into the next round of fixtures.
