Gary Neville believes Arsenal are on the brink of joining Europe’s elite, saying the club has developed the quality and mentality needed to compete for — and eventually win — the UEFA Champions League. Speaking on his podcast, the former Manchester United defender said he can “see Mikel Arteta’s side winning the Champions League in the next two or three years” if the team maintains its current trajectory.
Neville praised Arsenal’s “resilience, stability and consistency,” arguing that the squad Arteta has assembled is now strong enough to challenge both domestically and in Europe. Although he cautioned that the competition’s knockout format could still trip them up this season, he insisted the long-term signs are clear. According to Neville, Arsenal are not only equipped to fight for the Premier League, but also to make a deep run against Europe’s top sides.
The Sky Sports pundit added that he personally “would want” Arsenal to win the Champions League, crediting Arteta’s transformation of the team since taking charge. He said he hopes the manager secures a major trophy to cement his work, describing a Champions League triumph as the ideal milestone for the Spaniard’s project.
Neville’s remarks come amid growing belief that Arsenal are evolving into a genuine continental force, with their performances in the Premier League and Europe attracting increasing respect across the football world.
