Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday, April 4, 2026, stepped up his political mobilisation efforts in Kiambu County, holding a series of public engagements across Juja Constituency as part of his ongoing grassroots outreach.
Gachagua made multiple stops in the constituency, including Malaba Shopping Centre, Daraja area, and Juja town, where he addressed residents and rallied support amid growing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general election.
During the engagements, he delivered a strongly worded message targeting the current administration, accusing it of perpetuating systemic failures and economic hardship among ordinary citizens.
“We shall not tire in exposing lies, looting, corruption, callousness, and other injustices perpetuated by this regime,” Gachagua declared while addressing crowds at Malaba Shopping Centre.
He further warned individuals allegedly involved in misuse of public resources, stating that accountability was inevitable and that those responsible would soon face consequences.
“There will be no escape route for those mismanaging our public funds, as their time is drawing near,” he told supporters, drawing cheers from the crowd.
The former Deputy President thanked residents of Malaba for their reception, noting that the turnout and support demonstrated growing public interest in his political movement.
“A heartfelt thank you to the residents of Malaba Shopping Centre in Juja Constituency, Kiambu County, for your warm and gracious welcome,” he said.
Gachagua was accompanied by his spouse Dorcas Rigathi, who has been actively supporting his engagements, particularly in community and faith-based events.
Also present was Cleo Malalah, identified as a Deputy Party Leader within Gachagua’s political formation, alongside several local leaders and grassroots organisers.
Earlier in the day, the delegation attended a thanksgiving ceremony in Murang’a County hosted by Gichobe Mbatia, who is recovering from injuries sustained in a recent road accident.
The event brought together family members, friends, clergy, and political allies in a show of solidarity and gratitude following Mbatia’s recovery.
Gachagua expressed gratitude for Mbatia’s improved health, attributing it to divine intervention and praising his commitment to public service.
He described the MCA as a dedicated and people-centred leader, commending residents of Kariara Ward for standing by him during his recovery period.
“I extend my best wishes to Hon. Gichobe for continued good health and success in the days ahead,” Gachagua said during the thanksgiving gathering.
At the Kiambu events, local leaders and residents echoed Gachagua’s sentiments, raising concerns over the high cost of living and governance issues while expressing support for his calls for accountability.
The day’s activities underscored a coordinated effort to strengthen grassroots networks in the Mt. Kenya region, with Gachagua positioning himself as a central figure in emerging opposition politics.
