FIFA Slaps Bandari FC with Registration Ban Over Unsettled Financial Obligation

Kenyan football club Bandari FC has found itself at the center of a developing administrative dispute after world football governing body FIFA imposed a registration ban over an unresolved financial matter.

According to an official communication dated June 16, 2026, FIFA confirmed that Bandari FC has been barred from registering new players both internationally and nationally following the club’s failure to comply with an earlier disciplinary ruling concerning outstanding financial obligations owed to Mohamed Borji.

The directive indicates that despite a previous FIFA decision on the matter, the club had not yet fulfilled the required financial settlement, prompting football’s governing body to enforce disciplinary measures.

Under the sanction, Bandari FC will be prohibited from registering new players until the outstanding amount is fully paid. FIFA further stated that the restriction could remain in effect for a maximum of up to three entire and consecutive registration periods should the matter remain unresolved.

In the communication, FIFA also requested the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) to immediately implement the ban at the national level if the restriction had not already been enforced.

The development now raises fresh questions regarding the club’s transfer activities and squad planning ahead of upcoming domestic competitions, particularly if the issue is not resolved within the stipulated timeline.

As of now, neither Bandari FC nor Football Kenya Federation has publicly issued an official response regarding the matter.

The situation remains a developing story, with further clarification expected from the relevant parties in the coming days.

For now, the FIFA decision serves as another reminder of the importance of financial compliance and administrative accountability in modern football governance, both locally and globally.
