FIFA and UEFA have suspended Russia's national and club teams.
World football governing body FIFA has suspended Russia’s national club and club teams, meaning they will not be able to participate in the World Cup 2022, Europa League, Nations League and Women’s Euro 2022.
Russia was to face Poland in a World Cup play-off semi-final on March 24th, take part in the Women's European Championships in July and Spartak Moscow have been kicked out of the Europa League and won’t play against RB Leipzig.
UEFA has also terminated its partnership with energy company Gazprom, which is majority-owned by the Russian state and is also a major sponsor of the Champions League.
The partnership has been in place since 2012 and has been reported to be worth around £33.4m per season.
