Faith Kipyegon nominated For Laureus Award

Olympic champion Faith Kipyegon has been nominated for the prestigious 2024 Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year Award set for April 22, 2024, in Madrid, Spain.

The Double world record holder will compete against United States’ World 100-meter champion Sha’Carri Richardson and the Jamaican two-time World 200m champion Shericka Jackson.

The middle distance champion had an impressive 2023 that saw her break the 1500-meter world record at the Diamond League Meeting in Florence, Italy and in under a week shattered the 5000-meter world record in Paris, France.

Kipyegon then won the 1500m and 5000m gold medals at the World Championships in Budapest before claiming the 1500-meter Diamond League Trophy.
