Faith Kipyegon Misses Sub-4-Minute Mile By Six Seconds In Paris

Kenya’s middle-distance legend, Faith Kipyegon, came agonizingly close to rewriting athletics history in Paris, falling just six seconds short of breaking the elusive four-minute mile barrier.
In a race watched closely by fans and fellow athletes, Kipyegon clocked an impressive 4 minutes 06.42 seconds. The performance was a bold attempt to become the first woman ever to run a mile in under four minutes.
Despite missing the mark, the two-time Olympic and world champion remained optimistic.
“I know one day a woman will run under 4 minutes; I will not lose hope; I will still go for it. Thank you all for coming to cheer me; this was really special.” She said.
The effort reaffirmed Kipyegon’s dominance in middle-distance running and her continued push for greatness. She already holds multiple world records and remains one of the most consistent performers on the track.
Today's race may not have delivered history, but it fueled belief in herself and in the possibility of shattering one of the sport’s most iconic barriers.
