DP Kindiki Named UDA Deputy Party Leader
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has been formally appointed as the new deputy party leader of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
The DP was named during a party National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday.
In a statement, UDA Chairperson Cecile Mbarire explained that the decision was made after Gachagua’s impeachment by the National Assembly and confirmation by the Senate, an outcome that rendered him incapable of fulfilling his duties as Deputy Party Leader.
"The National Executive Committee Now Resolves: To designate H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki, EGH, as the Deputy Party Leader of the United Democratic Alliance Party effective immediately,” said Cecily Mbarire, the party’s National Chairperson.
DP Kindiki, in his speech, promised to support President William Ruto in achieving his goals and the UDA party's goals for the Kenyan people.
He stressed the value of having a unified party, declaring to carry out the duties assigned by the party in order to accomplish the goals of the party and all of its members.
“I will do the job I have been given by the party to help the President achieve the agenda of the party and all members,” he said.
