Seasoned politician David Keter Dollarline wins the Emurua Dikirr UDA nominations with a difference of 92 votes against Bernard Ngeno who was PA to Johanna Ngeno.

David Kipsang Keter has secured the United Democratic Alliance nomination for the Emurua Dikirr Constituency parliamentary by-election following a closely contested party primary that drew significant public attention.

According to official tally results, Keter garnered 13,749 votes, narrowly defeating Bernard Kipkoech Ngeno, who secured 13,394 votes. The slim margin highlighted the competitiveness of the race and the high stakes involved as the ruling party selects its candidate.

The nomination exercise was conducted across multiple polling centres within the constituency, with a high voter turnout reflecting strong political interest in the seat. The process was largely described as peaceful and orderly despite the tight contest between the leading aspirants.

Senior political leaders praised both candidates for conducting disciplined campaigns. Supporters of both Keter and Ngeno turned out in large numbers, making the contest one of the most closely watched grassroots political events in the region.

William Ruto congratulated Keter on his victory, assuring him of the party’s full support as he prepares for the by-election. He also commended Ngeno for a spirited campaign and called for unity within the party after the tightly fought race.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen described the exercise as a demonstration of grassroots democracy and praised residents for maintaining peace throughout the process. He urged party members to rally behind the winner.

The by-election was necessitated by the death of former area MP Johana Ng'eno, whose passing earlier this year left the parliamentary seat vacant and triggered the electoral process.

Keter’s victory now positions him as the UDA flag-bearer in the upcoming by-election, where he is expected to face candidates from rival parties in what is shaping up to be a competitive contest.

With nominations concluded, attention now shifts to the main campaign period, as Keter seeks to consolidate support across Emurua Dikirr and navigate the political landscape ahead of the crucial vote.
