Crazy Kennar And Kwambox In London For Meta's Creators Week
Kenyan comedian Kennedy Odhiambo, famously known as Crazy Kennar, and Vybz radio presenter Kwambox have traveled to London courtesy of Meta to attend the EMEA Creator Week.
The Comedian took to his Instagram stories on Wednesday and posted a video of himself at the airport leaving the country.
Kennar and Kwambox, were the only Kenyan content creators selected to attend the event under Meta's ‘Creators of Tomorrow’ campaign.
The distribution of the African ‘Creators of Tomorrow’ included two from Kenya, Ivory Coast and Senegal, and one each from Uganda, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The purpose of the event is to boost the resources of content creators and help them grow their audience.
“We’re committed to helping creators grow their community and make a living on our platforms. As we work toward the Metaverse, our investments aim to empower creators with the cutting-edge tools, education and resources needed to build creative and financial success - now and in the future,” Meta said.
Meta reached out to African content creators because they have creatively used its technologies and applications such as Facebook and Instagram to showcase their talents and abilities to tell African stories to the masses.
The one year project will be great in not only growing audiences but also creating better opportunities for content creators.
The event is being held for the first time in London, United Kingdom.
