Champion's League R.16 Action.
Inter Milan edge past Porto
Substitute Romelu Lukaku scored the only goal for Inter Milan as they beat 10-man Porto in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
It was an entertaining end to end action with Porto having a double chance at 0-0 but Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana denied both Zaidu Sanusi and Mehdi Taremi.
Diogo Costa was also called to action and saved Alessandro Bastoni’s header tipping it off the bar, denying the resilient Porto a deserved chance.
Lukaku however found space and converted a rebound after his first effort had bounced off the post in the 86th minute at the San Siro.
Porto will still fancy their chances of overturning the deficit at home in three weeks' time, despite missing the services of talented midfielder Otavio, who got sent off after two yellow cards.
The second leg takes place at Porto's Estadio do Dragao on Tuesday, 14 March.
City held by RB Leipzig
Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by RB Leipzig in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie, failing to capitalize on their first-half dominance.
Pep Guardiola’s side were in complete control in the first 45 minutes and got the lead midway through the half, when Ilkay Gundogan fed Riyad Mahrez slotting it into the back of the net.
The away side however paid the price for switching off and RB Leipzig came out in the second half the better side, with Benjamin Henrich coming close to equalise with two consecutive efforts early into the second half.
The hosts continued to play with more ambition and were finally rewarded for their pressure when Josko Gvardiol headed in following a short corner.
Pep Guardiola aching to get his first Champions League trophy, will look to get the job done in the second leg on Tuesday, 14 March.
