CAF Boosts Capacity—38,400 Fans Approved for Kenya vs Madagascar CHAN Quarter-final

Kenyan football fans have reason to cheer ahead of the CHAN quarter-final tie as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has increased stadium capacity to 80% for the Harambee Stars' match against Madagascar.
The decision, a major improvement from the previous 60% cap (27,000 spectators), now permits approximately 38,400 fans to attend the game at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
This change followed successful appeals by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), who implemented enhanced security and crowd management measures to address CAF’s earlier concerns over safety breaches.
FKF President Hussein Mohammed praised the collaboration, calling on fans to ensure a strong turnout while adhering to protocols. Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya also encouraged fans without tickets to use expanded fan zones across Nairobi—including Ruiru, Camp Toyoyo, and Babadogo—and refrain from political disruptions.
As the Harambee Stars gear up to possibly make history by progressing to the semi-finals for the first time in decades, the enlarged crowd capacity is set to amplify both support and excitement at Kasarani.
