Manchester United Captain Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for March, continuing a sensational individual campaign in the Premier League. The Portugal international earned the accolade after an outstanding month in which he scored two goals and provided four assists in just four league appearances.
Fernandes’s performances in March saw him influence every game he played, beginning with a goal and an assist in United’s 2‑1 win over Crystal Palace. He followed that with a key assist in a tough 2‑1 loss at Newcastle United, further contributions in a 3‑1 victory against Aston Villa, and a penalty goal in a 2‑2 draw with Bournemouth.
The 31‑year‑old’s creative output placed him at the top of the league’s charts for chances created, big chances created, and combined goals and assists during the month — emphatic proof of his influence on the pitch.
This marks the sixth time Fernandes has won the Premier League’s Player of the Month award, a tally that now equals that of former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. Only three players — Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero, and Mohamed Salah — have more, with seven apiece.
His assist tally for the 2025/26 season now stands at 16, a figure that has already rewritten Manchester United’s single-season assist record previously held by club legend David Beckham. Fernandes is also closing in on the Premier League’s overall single-season assist record of 20, jointly held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
The award caps a period of rich form for the United captain, who has been central to the club’s push for a Champions League place and has often drawn plaudits for his leadership and creativity amid tactical adjustments under manager Michael Carrick.
United now look ahead to their next league fixture against Leeds United on 13 April, with Fernandes’s momentum at a high and supporters hoping his performances will continue to drive the club’s ambitions in the run-in.
